Hold the Petals When the Wind Blows

Walk softly, otherwise you crush my dreams,
Speak softly, do not disturb my feelings,
they are as vital as the air I breathe,
Without love, life is a mere tick of the clock
and the heartbeat, just a sound lost inside the chest.
Hear me, feel me…the sentiment is yours to cultivate.
Go gentle into the night and awake with an open heart,
for, when the last breath leaves your pallid face,
the only thing worth was the days you let yourself
ignite the feelings you were born with but somehow,
let fall like petals when the wind blows.
Walk softly, speak gently, love deeply, be like a river.

Title, excellent. I like a long title.
The none rhyme, love that.
And perfectly unmistakably
The voice of the heart of a woman.
I am going to pick one line from your poem, the line that really stuck out for me.
"ignite the feelings you were born with but somehow ..."
Now that line suggests the love about which you write was something the you to whom your poem is addressed didn't allow themselves to experience fully. As for the you to whom you addeess your words it could be another person or it could be the writer. We often use second person to refer to ourselves in poetry.
Whichever it is this poem speaks wistfully to me about regrets that the times when love was allowed to come through were too few but were also memorable. B
What a gentle soothing flow this has B... it asks nothing of the reader but to read breath and let go. Beautiful x
Wonderful people are both strong and gentle. Lovely Poem.
Beautifully crafted Bernadete. Reading this I feel as much sadness and loss, along with the struggle to thoroughly maintain self control and direction or purpose as I do opportunity and caution for the fragile nature of this ephemeral life. Again great work .
