Body of stars
Revised

If the sea gently rocked me
I would dream the dream of the free.
Float on my back, eyes to
The stars and arms spread out
Balancing that thing of a body.
I would be in the middle of the sea.
Maybe God not even find me----
Peace filled desiring nothing.
Desiring nothing as I have found you
Now I'm back to my senses.
Old nerve endings and synapses
Lap against a single consciousness,
The consciousness of the world
Supported by four great elephants.
The soul, too, it would be true,
Present itself as a corner candle,
Somewhere on an angle
Illuminating shadow as other
Candles illuminate mine,
Mind for a wild animal, imagination,
Body of stars.
I mightn't just be alone in the dark.
I would dream the dream of the free
And surround the moments
With a silence of stillness,
Unattainable by most
And relevant only to some.

Again a meditative and spiritual feel to this one R. Love is the biggest thing they say but it's also true to say we are at our most serene and peaceful when we abandon all thought and feeling. A puzzle. Great write x
Thank you
Imagination, meditation, wishing of freedom…or perhaps a dream?!
Very well expressed. Great work, I reckon. B
Thank you
"If the sea gently rocked me
I would dream the dream of the free..."
Such a strong opening for the poem. Pulled me straight in!
The next three lines are so descriptive that we feel, as readers, that we are right there. In the sea. Looking up at the stars. And the poem goes on to talk about the Universe and peace and 'finding' someone ... Someone who has passed? I'm not sure but I get the feeling that this talks of the silence that is found in death ... and that death is not the end. But then, I have probably got it hopelessly wrong ... and if I have I apologize ... although I still love the poem x
As is more of my stuff than not,
Open to interpretation.
The last three poems I feel
Can share the theme of (becoming free). Though not
Silhouettes of buildings and palm trees.
I mean, There were two, and Nightlight
