The song of the leaves

The song of the leaves

Walking across the bridge
Stopping to look at the river
On crisp fall day the skies
Are blue the sun is bright
As the wind blows the leaves
On the ground it sounds
Like a song

I walked across the bridge
On To the road in the Woods
Walking on leaves and acorns
It sounds like a song
The song of the leaves

I walked back across the bridge
And stopped and looked at the river
And the mountains, looking at the leaves and all the many colors
And watching the train go by
And listen to the leaves blow
In the wind and on the ground
It sounds like a song
The song of the leaves

I very much like "the song of leaves" - how different from my falling leaves playing tag with drops of fog and yet because of the sun of more value. Makes me want to go to my favorite walk along a stream, were it not that it is too far away from home (just over 600 km from where we live. Hanx for putting this up

I'm sorry I missed this one of yours, Greg! It's a rather lovely poem of an autumn walk. Your paint a lovely picture with your words. You write with a lovely clean, crisp style x

I came back to remind myself about leaves .. we don't have many left here at the moment, they have all blown away .. this is still as good as it was when I first visited at the tail end of fall .. NevilleΒ

Greg I'm a tad late arriving here, but it was worth the journey to arrive at this destination.
Well worth it, for to read your autumn venture and attractively winsome it is.
Well done my friend and full honors for being yet again nature's truest observer and expressed deftly in wonderful words:)
