My good lady
if you’ll forgive me
I’ll forgive you
I am convinced it was wrong
that I thought
another had some interest in you
it was an absence of thought
a person should know how to judge
between love and ‘unlove’
I cannot live
without your affection and tenderness
the continuance of our relationship
would give me more pride
than that of all the rest
of the world together
