When Birds Cry

When Birds Cry

                                               Birds Cry
when they don’t find solace in the wind
and the twilight brings no peace,
when the wings flip and can no longer lift,
roaming the ground, the clay feet cling

                                               Birds Cry
                                               when the nest is empty,
                                               last twig tomorrow is gone
holding memories and longing for returns
left behind, the lonely souls mourn

                                               Birds Cry
                                               when the song is faint
notes carried away hushed in the breeze,
                                               when their cry remains unheard,
drenched in solitude they stay and weep

                                               Birds Cry
                                               when heart is heavy
                                               tears dry
                                               when love is blown.

This is quite something ..

but then, I have a thing about birds, real ones and mythological ones .. I like the fact they capture most peoples imagination, not just poets .. I think if I was not me, I would like to be one .. I am also an avid horneythologist .. Neville

Thank you John, I am glad you like this one. Specially when I am not very good with sad writings. Much appreciated.
