Finding Rapture

Finding Rapture

 He ought to find rapture
 before the playground closes
and he walks away in quiet dismay,
 chasing the soccer ball
 which is but a phantom.

 He ought to feel love
 before time wipes it
and the heart will never find
 what lied beneath the cloth.

 He ought to find beauty
 before the boulder crashes it
and not even his own soul
 can lift and see.

 He ought to find rapture
 before the regrets of tomorrow.

Life slips through our hands like grains of sand sometimes. Lovely Verse.

Hello Bernadete...

It's sad knowing that there are people who could have risen but, they got in their own way and they held on to things that doesn't align so it keeps them unable to receive the gift and they'll just never see it...

Those same things that stopped them only got heavier in time...

Then they may realize it was really a heart thing if only they can realize it in their time...

If they didn't allow enough time for prepping they may rise a little?

The things that only separates the Winners from the Losers...

Right?

Self infliction is a heavy weight to carry indeed...

Great write!

Thank you for sharing...

Dear Bernadette,

One of my favorite movies ever was "Urban Cowboy", starring Debra Winger and John Travolta, It's beautiful theme song "Lookin for Love In All The Wrong Places".  Your powerful poem epitomizes the quest of a lonely heart, who will hopefully find love.  Another "Bravo!" for you, Bernadette.

Peace and love,
Larry xxx
