Poem -

Do Not Tary

My beloved

Oh darling, be not long in your absence.
Do not take the breeze away from the window.
The rain out of the storm.
Leave the dazzling bright lightning
So that the thunder can be heard.
When you are about.
The sun holds its radiance and the
Ocean her waves.
The blessed moon rises to her nightly perch,
Leaving all Earth amazed
Your laughter is like the sound of
Bells
Announcing the Auld Lang Syne
And your face alight on my breast
Holds the beauty of grace.
Kings can command with power
And priests can instruct your soul,
But you play my heart like a piano
Like a concerto in B minor,
Like a poem filled with light,
Oh my darling do not tary, be prompt
In your return.
So I can drift into the sweetest dreams,
With you inside my bed
