AN ENIGMA IN A CLOAK OF VULNERABILITY
 

Sometimes I find your words hard to understand

and, as writers, that is partly what we seek.

Your words take flight from a faraway land 

and I so want to know of what they speak.

I find you an enigma wrapped in a cloak of vulnerability 

and all I want is to bring you love, peace and tranquility.

Sometimes I read your words and I so want them to be about me

and that very uncertainty is a sure sign of my own vulnerability.

We came into each other's lives for a reason

of that there can be no doubt.

We are not aligned by the season.

Our lives like little scenes played out.

Scripted by the words that flow through our heads,

a reminder of love's existence and the invisible threads

that connected our souls before we even met.

A connection on which, I know, the sun will never set.
