A Beautiful Sound

Sometimes it's hard to tell where's home
When you walk on down that winding road
Shuffling through all the thoughts you own
Seeing the smiling faces and being aware your still alone

You leave parts of your self behind in all you touch
But you realize what you have ain't much
Most the things you've loved slipped through your clutch
You know you've been poisoned, you've been drinking the punch

There are many reasons to Continue the journey
But they can't seem to be made out, to blurry
Chasing your happiness in a hurry
Trying to out run the rats as they scurry

It's a shame that life has to be so real
All the broken hearts still feel
Put up walls and reinforced them with steel
Your emotions seem to work against your will

So what's the point in all the pain
How do you keep moving when you constantly feel the drain
And every move you make is filled with stress and strain
All you can do is continue to walk in the rain

Sometimes the sun breaks through the clouds
And the stress and pain drop like pounds
And you enjoy the company of just one person who wants you around
And then they say I love you, and it's a beautiful sound
