A Fence

A Fence

Oh, ye, of nail and precious woods so fine,
have stood through time to bind all others close.
Yet, some may think you may prohibit shine
of neighbors on each side. Where some verbose

close neighbors find the top of fences to
have their own chin relaxed, while they make talk.
So, be it, one may think the fence-top knew
it best because of where the neighbor's gawk.

Nay! These tall boards make mockery to peace
because they keep some in while others out.
If fences make the doubt, as to increase
ill will, then why does Heaven's Gate build doubt?

The functions may not be the fences guilt,
for walls like lines have only dubbed what's built.
