A flutter flutter of its wings

A flutter flutter of its wings

A flutter flutter of its wings
in twilight’s gentle whispered sings
the nightingale begins its flight
through shadows deep
and moon’s soft light.

It dances on the evening breeze
among the ancient whispering trees
with melodies that weave and twine
a song of love a tune divine.

The stars above they softly gleam
reflecting in the silver stream
where ripples play and softly kiss
the nightingale’s sweet song of bliss.

In gardens where the roses bloom
and nightshade casts a gentle gloom
a flutter flutter of its wings
a serenade that nature brings.
