A Game Of Two Halves

A Game Of Two Halves

Everything was hunky-dory, love was mandatory,
we cried at the right times, laughed every day,
not fazed at all, impervious, lovely, magical,
God gave us, only he could remove, take away.

He merged spirits, adjusted conceptual limits,
sometimes we slowed and hours became minutes,
my mindset was re-balanced, 'smart' distanced,
yours led gently by misty spell and happenstance.

Easy-peasy was not cheesy, most would fade away,
strength was there to lastĀ  a length and sunny day,
honesty beyond many heard - such a lonely word,
but beauty, life, the thought of failure was absurd.

The anticipation is wondrous, we know what we will say,
and yet every time we know, it's fresh since yesterday.
