Poem -

A Haven In Dreams

A Haven In Dreams

Soft glints hints copious amounts of light,
Which flickers in my vacant sight
Transpiring images
Daydreams delight

Momentary escape
My mind takes flight
Sensors bring pleasures
Insurmountable treasures

Born from my dreams
Every wish I succeed
Freed
I believe
For once I am safe
From the torment
The hate
Life’s twisted fate

Every visualisation
Is my sanctuary
My haven
A place I can hide
Where no man gets inside

It's confusing because I noticed, I click to vote on poems, and it just ticks by, and nothing shows ? is there a limit?

Beautifully written!

I got a sense of a person starring out the window at the light shinning in, they close their eyes and think about being in a different place -- away from home.

Favorite lines:

A place I can hide
Where no man gets inside

I like the short passages and the brief images used throughout. In a day dream, we are free to imagine just about anything that comes to mind.

Hello, firstly I am so sorry this is a late reply, I have been away poorly and hadn’t seen any comments.

you are so right, daydreaming is a wonderful escape. Like a meditation where we drift for a moment within our own imagination. Nothing can harm us there

thanks for reading and the wonderful comment

This is beautiful, Gwendoline. That momentary escape can last a very long time. And I really like the image, it just fits. 5 stars, pinned ❤

Hello Michael, I am sorry this is late. I have been poorly. But came on today and found my poem won,  and I have lovely comments. This has really lifted my spirit

Yes time escapes us when we submerge into our own imagination. It’s a powerful thing really and a great way to relieve ourselves of unwanted stresses life can bring.

A beautiful escape Gwen and to lose one's self in it when found, immerse in it for as long as one dares to dream.
Beautifully well written poem and simply choose never to leave when discovered.
Full honours bestowed and a perfect pic to add to your perfect private dream.❤️

Hello Shaun, firstly a thousand apologies but cosmo failed to notify me of your feedback. I just stumbled on you. Oddly Tina had the same discovery with me on one of her poems, both in June so maybe the site had a hiccup it does tend to happen sadly. But I am so pleased to see you read this and thank you my friend for you kindness and support. It never fails me how good a soul you are. Many thanks for taking time to look back and your words are always so encouraging and warmly received 💜
