A love grown by design
It was where the several stayed
the few – they strived to be
like those stuck to the peaceful shore
who much preferred the sea
What part do we mere mortals play
in where the others are –
the choice is theirs – and theirs alone
we see a different star
Contradiction lives its life
in uncertain times –
to doubt is only to be wise
like water turned to wine
Yet does one’s wish to tear down the wall
lay their feelings bare –
a darling bud springs to bloom –
from no-man’s-land to there
And as the night that fell shines once again
and meets the brightest sky
belief meets trust and honesty –
a love grown by design.

This is a beautiful poem, Owen. Beautiful in sentiment AND beautiful in the words woven. A lovely read that brings warmth to its reader. Love this and pinned it x
Thanks for reading - really don't know why I gave Cosmo a miss for so long. The communal atmosphere is one to cherish.
Cheers!

Hi Owen you are very welcome. The communal atmosphere on Cosmo is great isn't it? To be honest, though, just lately it has not been as it was. Glad you are back your poetry is always a treasure to read x
Hello Owen, this is written beautifully. I got a true sense of sticking to your beliefs, that not everything around us is what it seems. That some of us are aware of a bigger picture. Wonderful imagery created within the intent of this messageÂ
Thanks for sharingÂ

Hi Gwen,
That's exactly what I was trying to get across.
We ought not just accept what we hear as 'gospel truth' but delve deeper and then decide for ourselves.
Thanks for the feedback.
Best,
