Poem -

She came but in an afternoon

She came but in an afternoon

She came but in an afternoon
and stayed until the dawn
and looked like a rose by 'nother name
with passion well restored

She came but in an afternoon -
the curtain drawn discreetly
and shared her wonder and her thoughts
a heartbeat shared completely

She came but in an afternoon
unknowingly to me
and stroked a strand and held my hand
although so fleetingly

She came but in an afternoon
next day I heard no sound
but knew that afternoon would come again
and there - my love be found.

Hello Owen, I loved the repeated lines here. It gave the reader a good sense of time passing as this visitation kept happening. Lost loved ones who come to us to ease our grieving hearts, I felt that here, beautifully forlorn poem
