A Mending Heart

Damn time flies, feels as though my hearts' ran out of patience.

Minds racing in another direction, love has failed me once again.

Trust this isn't just a rhyme I'm busting but truth to the ears of how a "Heart of Stone" truly feels.

What once was soft became so hard, I quickly learned to be discreet.

Climbing towards a woman burying the girl she once was.

Perhaps strength doesn't reside in having never been broken, but in the courage to grow.

No more puffy red eyes, dried up tears from yesterday or curling up at night so anyone won't hear the pain.

Time now has leaded towards success,

And maybe along the way him and me in an ivory wedding dress.
