A Mothers Light...

Hello darkness my old friend
You've come to talk to me again
I'm not your friend he screams and shouts
It's time for you to feel my might.
He engulfs me in his deep dark cloak
My mouth goes dry, I start to choke
I grab and clutch the taloned claw
As I feel his grip upon my jaw.
He slaps me once around my head
And slams me back on to my bed
You're scaring me I spurt out loud
As he stares at me with furrowed brow.
He starts to squeeze my mind goes blank
And all I know I start to yank
I scream and kick with all my might
Then in a flash, he's lost the fight.
Now there's someone standing there
As I look up and see her hair
What's the matter shsssh don't cry
As she bends down low to dry my eye.
.
She soothes me with her soft, calm voice
And in those arms, I rejoice
She wraps me in her warm embrace
As I fall asleep to all her grace.

This is a great write Phil. I love the darkness it's something I can easily relate to.
Take care - Syd
Thanks, Syd glad you enjoyed it. I like the darkness too, maybe not as much as a kid though.
