A response to 'The Road Not Taken' (for Robert Frost)

I still see now those roads in the wood,
And am sorry I cannot go back
But I've always understood
That ere, if I could,
My future would still contain black.
So I look back down the road of my choice,
See the bumps and the cracks overcome,
But the grass was always moist
And I have sung with loud voice,
Better to have taken part than have won.
Hindsight remains a wonderful thing
And tho my path was not full of clover,
I've heard those church bells ring,
Still await deaths cold sting,
Yet remain a fortuitous roamer.
And so yes, I write this with a sigh,
Tho on my face remains a wry grin.
A nod to my companions who've died
And all the tears I have cried
But while I'm still walking, I can still win.

Hi bad rhymes,
Nice poem.
Sounds like we're both on the same boat, a pair of old birds trying to survive on Noah's Ark.
Peace and Love,

Hi Larry
Many thanks for the feedback. I'm hoping I'm not that old an old bird....! :)
