Poem -

A Sky So Black

A desperate soul walked one dark night,
Struggling with demons deep inside;
Walking a road that twisted and turned
Along a route unknown and yet learned.
If the moon could smile she did so then
For this weary soul she saw as a friend.

You see heartache and despair,
Yet I see the ghosts that were always there.

A sky so black and splattered with light
Looked down upon this soul that night;
As they walked the road that was cloaked in doom
And trailed by ghosts beneath the moon.
If stars grant wishes they did not do  then
For this weary wanderer who could see no end.

You see loneliness and pain,
Yet, I see a traveller on the road again.

You don't dissapoint do you...love it Tina.

'Along a route unknown yet learned.'

'Yet I see a traveller on the road again.'

For me you have captured exactly what it is like to walk with moon.
 .Ridiculous to credit a spinning dead rock with such empathy but that is what I feel from the moon and I think that is what you have captured here in this write. Also that vague inner feeling that none of this matters, this world is a snack before the feast. Moon helps us reconnect with that fact I think. You have as always written a gem...a write is only good to me if I can feel its heart beat through the written word. A hard thing to achieve but you are a master at this. Zillions of stars to you...love it...glad you posted...thankyou ❤

Hi Marion...I have walked with moon many times! It is rather special isn't it, the moon? I can understand why she is known as a godess in some faiths. I often talk to her.

As always, thankyou so much for reading. I am so pleased that you like this poem. Thankyou for leaving such deep and precious thoughts in your comments. Many thanks 😊 xx

You may not be the most prolific poster of poetry here at least .. but I imagine you are very busy Tina ... however, you have never once let your fans, or at least this one down .. Indeed, your words here are rather special and certainly timely ..

I wonder did you see the super blood moon last night and the partial lunar eclipse? I know I did since I sat watching them for hours from the old stone harbour wall .. just looking and watching and thinking and wishing and ........................................ N x

This more than demonstrates what a superb writer you are and talent you possess in equal and good measure.
Terrific and captivating writing in a poem this reader didn't want to end and your hands and effortless words Tina, it doesn't.
Superb and cleverly inked and enjoyed reading this twice over with those clever pauses that add to the effect in a readers mind.
Great write.
Shaun. x.

Hello Tina, sorry I am late visiting your poem. I haven’t had much time for poetry lately. But so glad I clicked to view your page. To find a couple of new gems to savour is always a treat. Your narrative skills shine here. There is something cathartic about taking a lonely walk under the moonlight. I loved the inner guidance here too. Life is a mystery, it tends to raise more questions of its nature when we are ploughing through darker moments. Nature can be such a comfort and the moon itself holds a spiritual soothing appeal to its luminous presence. I think you captured that and the strength that can come when we keep going, despite the hardships. For even in those moments when the darkness feels all consuming, just like the moon hints, we can always find a little light of encouragement. Love this so much

brilliant as always

all the very best

Hi Gwen, lovely to hear from you! I hope all is well in Gwen's world. I have not had much time for poetry lately either. I just got a burning feeling, last night, to log on to Cosmo and have a delve.

Thankyou for your kindness about my work and thankyou, too, for your insights. You are 100% right, in our darkest times we do need to grab that little light glimmering faintly in the blackness x

Hi Tina, thanks so much for the kind words. I am hoping life is calming down so I can venture into the word of poetry more again. Just trying to recover from long Covid at the moment. Taking it slow. Hope you are well and the book is going well. I am looking forward to reading the next journey in the series :) xx

Long covid!  You take it easy! That is nasty. I hope you recover soon. I have not been writing as much lately and I really must get back into it. I keep getting serious doubts set in ...but I need to learn to brush those aside and just get on with it. I am plodding along with the book. I think it might be a LOT longer than the first one. At least the first draft will be. Get well soon xx

Yes have learnt I HAVE to stop.  Resting seems to help. I just feel I have a hundred things to do. I don’t mind a longer book at all. It’s a nice place to escape to :) looking forward to reading it. Doubt is such an enemy isn’t it. I write poems then look back and think they are no good. Same with art. Confidence…I wish I had it like some do in spades. You should be confident. You always shine in your work. Always such a treat when you do post xx
