A Solitary Soul

A Solitary Soul

A Solitary Soul
J. Allen Hewitt

Looking back...where is the light?
A wasting away of memories, a remembrance gone,
am I fading?

Looking out...where is the door?
A long time of nothing, a long time with no one,
am I lost?

Looking in...where is the window?
A dark room with no walls, yet I am imprisoned within,
am I bound?

Looking forward...where is the road?
A trail leading nowhere, far and wide wading through dead space,
am I blocked?

No one,
nowhere,
no way...

I am alone.

Hi, your work reflects powerfully the sense of disconnection you have with anything and everything... very sad piece, beautifully constructed, lucid imagery, using brevity in the best possible way and with most impact. Really enjoyed this piece and look forward to many more!

Grazzi, thank you very much, I am an expressionist in my creations, drawing from my mife experiences, not all of which are pixies and roses unfortunately, again, thank you for taking the time to read me.
