A Stolen Page

A Stolen Page

To my Lorna…
Contained within that mindful “Book of Count”
Which every man (upon his conscience) keeps
A weight of ink within the pages mounts
Discrete, throughout the bindings ~ passion seeps.
Set down in secret markings; secret signs
conspire to conceal their subtle craft
Discretion’s art imposes such designs
as hold their darker secrets close (aloft).
But once I gave you leave to freely read
{Content that such concealments would assuage}
You read (concealed therein) the mark of need
Which moved your hand to steal a lonely page.
Upon that page, you sketched such wings of words
On which I soar above the reeling birds.

Hi Darling, I am so happy my little note inspired this, I love it, thank you so so much.
Your reference to Everyman and the book of count is a brilliant add to this. I love the subtly of your poetry Jason ….Everyone can read what they want from it and take something in relation to themselves…Im sure that is what all fine artists do…much like you!
I Love this and thank you
All my love
Your Lorna xx xx xx xx

Your little note inspired this...as so much of what you do and who you are inspires me in so many ways every day.

The need to communicate is overwhelming; it is the basis and predication of all art...and the very thing which brought us together in the first place, I think you'll agree. And it's the continuing need which acts as the unbreakable bridge between us over the distance which separates us most of the time.
The distance will not always separate us; but I think that our bridge of poetry, art and so much else will always remain...and will always be a defining feature of our remarkable and enriching relationship.
With you in my life...I will NEVER run out of inspiration.

I love you.

your Jason xxxx

Thank you so much, Rose.
Lorna has been a saving grace in my life over the last few months; in a way I never would have thought possible only a year ago.
It remains my fervent wish to, one day, write something for her which fully expresses what she means to me. Though, for the moment, I haven't even come close!

Thank you for your gracious and characteristically warm welcome...so glad you enjoyed the poem.

My Dear Friend Jason,

Linda and I just read the words that you and Lorna shared, and they brought tears to our eyes.  No bridge, no matter how far the gap, can keep soulmates from being together.  For the distance is only measured in miles, far superseded by the love in their hearts.

The diary of my lonely soul
I entrust to only you
You peruse each page with your loving heart
And know just what to do

You see the need within this man
And scroll words upon a page
That send me soaring to the skies above
There finding my soulmate sage

Peace and Love,
Larry xxx

Larry, my dear friend...

There are times when what you write provokes an immediate (even witty) retort...then there are times when what you write leaves me stultified and at a loss for words.
This is one of the latter.

Thank you...so much.

your friend & fan,

J ;)

hi...this is the first one of your poems I have read..and I spotted the bard without looking at your profile...it's just lovely..how depth can seep with words..words..mean nothing to some people..they trash them about like rubble..but to others they are oxygen...breathe some more for us it's lush
