A Teacher's Legacy - A Dedication

Always there I'd find you,
A teacher in her room,
But no one ever knew,
The role a teacher would assume.
A profession, at first glance,
But a teacher's influence is infinite,
And though I met you by mere chance,
You shaped my person, I admit.
A smiling face, present there,
Lifting spirits, encouraging dreams,
You offered us your attention and care,
You helped us grow, by any means.
I cannot express my gratitude,
Just know, your legacy lives on.
Inspiration, in us, you imbued.
Although to a close, your career has drawn;
Keep In Mind That A Teacher's Legacy, Forever Lives On.

You are so right, Ms. Kathryn!
In my senior year of high school I had a creative writing teacher named Ed. Grenzenbach.
Mr. "G" ,as he was referred to by all the students who loved him, once said to me after I'd recited a short horror poem I'd written titled, 'The Reign of Simon': "Dean...that was horrifyingly good! You, sir, are going to be a published author one day."
I've never forgotten Mr. G's encouraging words and some 25 years later, his prediction came true.
I sent him a signed copy of my book of dark poetry to which he sent a letter in return that read, "Thank you for making my life's work worthwhile."
Sorry I've rambled on so.
This was impeccably well rhymed and wonderfully written.
Pinned it!

Dear Kathryn,
This beautiful tribute to your beloved teacher, has inspired me to write one of my own, about the greatest one I ever knew.
I will publish it tomorrow, of course giving you credit for it's inspiration.
Thank you again for this powerful piece.
Hugs, Peace, and Love,
Larry xxx
