A Tufted Bed

A Tufted Bed

A Tufted Bed

Thoughts should not be kept in cages.
Castigation, bloody pages—
ripped, thus torn, for all to feel.
Damning secrets the mad reveal.

Myopic musings—full of angst.
Joyous fools, beware your flanks.
Watch those creeping from the rear;
tread carefully for sharks are near.

Arcane chants from far off places,
terror whitewashed, tiny faces.
Waiting ’til the time draws nigh
to wave their gnarled hands... “goodbye.”

My quill lies quiet 'til the morrow,
whilst these thoughts of pain and sorrow
slumber deep inside my head,
wrapped within this tufted bed.
