Abstract Lights

The blinds of the window, pulled down, to not let the sun in today, though shadows cast their shapes, I just listen to the sound
In the later afternoon, I can hear the starlings, as they feed their babes, the neighbor walks her dog, I can hear her cane tapping
The sidewalk pavement, the semi-trucks roll down the highway, the farmers plowing in a nearby field, the engine of the tractor
The leaves moving, across my window pane, images of faces, those I loved, those I wished I had known, and those who died
My song is in the garden, it is the rapture with the wind, my daughter tells me it is beautiful, and I look into her eyes, she smiles
My guitar is my soul, the stage, is my fame, the audience is my hunger, and my thirst is every musical key that breathes, a tune with you
Though the colors are beginning to fade, as my hands begin to shake, my blue jeans torn in fad, the past to the future blast
I see the abstract lights, in my mind, on the floor, in the sky, in my room, as I perform, the stage is mine, when I leave it, nothing but time
Alone, torn in half, by strings, with meaning, some sad, some glad, mad, and some in love, with passion, with excitement
Like a rose, with many thorns, the blood drips life away, and it ages, it can not stay the same, as it wilts into an oil painting
Songs of death, take the note, the flowers in a row, now they lay down, to sleep, upon my feet, where they shall bury me
I will sing in all your dreams, the rapture of solitude, the abstract figures in the minds eye, will now play on my stone so cold
In times of trouble, the waters will see my reflection, and you will hold my hand, as I fall to sleep, you will know I am at peace

Cherie, you are right, it is kinda funny how every thing becomes more clear at the very end. Thank you so much for your lovely words, I appreciate it.
