Afraid

The world is made of balance,
one hand must destroy,
and the other create,
one must give,
and one must take away,
one must be life,
and one be death,
one must be love,
and one must be hate,
one must be beautiful,
and one must be ugly.
It's strange to think this way,
like everything must be in balance,
for that means,
when you become happy,
somebody else gets your sadness,
what you receive,
has been taken from another,
what you give up,
will be given to another,
so with a heart of pure gold,
you try not to get anything,
and give up everything you had.
I've seen you fall,
collapse a thousand times over,
drifting between my life and the next,
you call yourself a release,
and fear for me,
I fear you will let me go,
let me slip,
turn your back,
as I am swallowed by the waves,
I can't keep you,
and I know it.
