African Beauty

African Beauty

The sound of the
drum echoing in the
background.

A beautiful black woman
comes to center stage.

Her long black hair
flowing down her
back.

Wrapped in a purple
traditional African
cloth

The drum rhythm
gets louder and louder.

She stomped her feet
to the rhythm and
made circular
movements with her
arms.

The drum rhythm
suddenly changed
the young African
beauty hips shook
wildly.

The drum rhythm
gets louder and louder.

When her dance
was over she started
to cry.

Because knew that
she did a good job.

She remembered what
her ancestors went
through back in Africa
and how hard they
fought to bring her to
America.

Coming to America was
always her dream.

Performing on center
stage was her parents
biggest wish for her.

While she stood there
weeping the audience
gave her a standing
ovation.

What a lovely picture of pride and passion you have depicted here..I can almost hear the drum beats whilst reading it! Lovely work.
