~ Afterglow ~

~ Afterglow ~

I’d like the memory of my life to be a joyful one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly through the treesβ€”
of happy times, of love and rhymes, when she was still with me.

Β
I’d leave the tears of those who grieve to dry beneath the sun;
think happy thoughts our love once wrought; the life we had begun.
I’d like to leave the sadness β€˜neath tall Weeping Willow trees.
To touch her face, feel her embrace, under the wispy leaves.

Β
I’d like to know before I go if she still thinks of me.
Does she still swoon beneath the moon – live life so totally?
Tell her, dear friends and family, I truly loved her so.
I hold her visage in my heart – awash in afterglow.

This is beautiful DEAN!!.....I particularly like the rhyming of "Willow trees" and "Wispy leaves"....VERY poetic!!!......I think that most people would agree that there is something romantic about Weeping willow trees in general..... ever been to Savannah Georgia?..... the weeping willow trees line the streets of the downtown area there......a beautiful sight!!...... anyway, another well crafted piece from the Professor!! ?......talk to ya later my friend!!...... peace n stuff!!......T xo ??✴❀✴?
Ps. There is definitely something gut wrenching about losing a soul mate .....especially when you leave it the way you have here.....I pray that this is a fiction!!.... or that you find an opportunity to have a face to face with her..... otherwise ~ in my humble opinion .....that would suck!! ?

Thanks for taking a look at one of the poems from my lighter, more sensitive side, Lisa.
There aren't too many, heh-heh.
Hugs!
