Poem -

Alas

Love has gone

Alas, there is no trace of the sun and
I can no longer see
Nor the sun nor the light nor your face
You vanished into thin air

Alas, our music is not playing and
I can no longer hear
Nor the notes nor the melody nor the sounds
You have turned away

Alas, your hand does not come close and
I can no longer feel
Nor your caresses nor the warmth of your body
Because you have ceased to love me

Such expression in your words...such a sad acceptance of lost things. Lovely work x

Being Me

These words will resonate with many. They are words so clearly written in hurt. They are stark and honest making a brilliant poem x

So much heartache. I loved your use of the word Alas at the start of the stanzas. Gave the piece a nice structure and added to the sense of feeling heart broken. Pinned 📌
