Recollection

Recollection

One night when the heart was grey
Colour dimmed and the still Light flickered, the wine Took away the edge of fear
A gentle warmth began to grow And the body moved with ease O what freedom was mine
And what desire swelled within in me
The blood moved and I have followed
To that dim place and there
Released the unspent warmth I had to give
And felt the glow of human flesh
To touch and feel is power indeed Much more than trying to withhold An act so perfect in itself
That none could have denied me
I shed no tear
For I was happier than the sun
And bolder than the moon
I gave and I received
And though love, I love you still I need to give and I need to take For taking is part of living
And giving – giving is the bigger half of life
