All at once

I knew this was coming but i didn’t want to believe it. 

How do you prepare yourself for heartbreak? I haven’t figured that out yet. 

When you said it was over, my heart melted out of my body. I felt nothing and everything all at once. It’s like my world just came crashing down at your very words. 

I saw this coming a few months back but I was blinded by you. I couldn’t stay away from you even if i tried, i didn’t want to and still don’t. 

But now i have no choice but to watch you live your life from afar and wonder everyday if that could have been me. If there was only a way we could have been together. If only the timing was right. 

So instead of being wrapped up in your arms tonight, I’ll write about you and wonder if I cross your mind still.
