All Creatures Great And Tall

All Creatures Great And Tall

My friend the giraffe said you must be having a laugh,
you people down there don't really seem to care,
about looking after each other, just stand and stare,
and can not reach the leaves that magic weaves.

You can not give any love like my running grace,
or match the beautiful smile on my velvet face;
I shrugged off the leopards and their silly paws,
and grinned at gawping visitors on safari tours.

When I was in the zoo, I took your brothers cap,
I know he cried and said that he wanted it back,
wished to return to the open plains where it rains,
brush my velvet on your face to take away the pains.

God created me unaware I'd need to go thro' a door,
but then he realized that what's less was definitely more.
