Poem -

All She Leaves Me

All She Leaves Me

Long since midnight gone,
From heart and arms,
where once she was, warm air,
from memory made,
in solemn twilight, fleeting,
where once we were us together,
now us apart, or her and I,
From where we, in time suspended,
were together truly,
where we would talk in hushed tones,
the woes and trials of the day,
to hear our hearts grow heavy,
and together face the world.
Every Night, before twilight falls,
whispering goodbyes in the fading light,
she leaves me,
and I can't help but feel lost,
when where she was grows cold,
the grass un-smoothed by her presence,
my arm again in the chill wind,
but every night she comes again,
and we are us once more,
what life is mine, I share with her,
together, hand in hand, we endure.
if this is love, then so be it,
I love her, and that I'll say,
All she ever leaves me,
Is hope for the next day
