Poem -
Alone In The Dark

- As a young boy I would love to hear my mother singing, she had a really good voice 1955, she still sang the old war songs
- I'd would sit on the kitchen floor behind her and listen while she prepared vegetableÂ
- Then without warning she'd turn shouting In my face drag me to feet and throw under the stairs cubbie hole and lock the door, If I cried she open the door and pelt with slippers or shoes then lock the door again walking away laughing evil laugh.
- Left alone In the dark my only company that of the spiders hiding In there still to this day seeing them I break into a cold sweat and my now panic of confined spaces she'd keep there, and then let me out just before dad arrived home from work
- If dad asked why I was crying she'd just say I'd been noughty, my dad never knew, I have a place to rest with my wife when I die, but have this terrible fear of being buried alive so I guess my ashes with be buried with her Instead, hope she want mind.

How very sad to read about your life as a young boy. This made me cry when I read it. You were very lucky to find your wife and she is lucky to have found you too. One day you will be together again. Keep up the poems and pieces of writing. I'm really enjoying reading them like so many others on here xx
