Among the Cherry Trees

I stand amidst the cherry trees,
Petals fall, swirling swift,
Coating the ground, bed of pink
Tears hover, color runs red,
In reverence of passing
For those who are dead
Masters all, in form or another
Genius paths, marked and cluttered,
Smattering of thoughts
In homage to what was hidden,
We the benefactors
Of their brillianceā¦
And still the petals fade,
Changing seasons, return to fall,
Relentless, tirelessly persistent
A reminder of butterfly fragility
To escape this hellish place
Of doubt, incessantly clinging.
Death is but transition,
Or so the poet speaks,
A leap of faith towards silence
When mind beats the heart
To hurt, to ache, to swell
With unspoken hopelessness
The petal drifts, upon the breeze
Its message whispers, soft to meā¦
Remember us kindly,
Though we leapt in the end
Our legacy is fixed,
We refused to pretend.

Hey REBECCA!!.....seriously soft touch to this most compelling and BEAUTIFULLY etched piece of poetic homage to those poets and thinkers that "to this day" still influence our opinions and impressions on the magic still hidden by Death's enigmatic veil......I LOVE the Cherry Trees leaves as metaphor and the gorgeous way you painted the time spent reflecting there amid their colors......ALL STARS & PINNED!!......a pleasure dear poet sister!!........LOVE & ROCKETS!!.......T xoĀ : )
Tony your words are as always so kind and full of encouragement. Thank you dear friend. Again I'm sorry for taking so long to get back to you.
Death is in the conscious mind right now with all that is happening. Friends disappear and there is no explanation until someone whispers... "Did you hear..." and then it hits like a truck. I long for the days of innocence, when spring was like the whistle of a songbirds first hello. Time however, never stops and we mortals beings march to our end without thought of today and what we might leave behind.Ā
Blessings of love and light to you talented friend. May your voice ring out to the mountains and beyond.Ā
