Poem -

Are you sorry now?

Are you sorry now?

What do you do when you want to scream but no sound comes out?
What do you do when you need to cry, but the river runs dry?
How do you divulge those feelings?
Do you paint? Draw? Write?
Do you dance?
Do you sing?
or do you hide?
Do you do whatever it takes to conceal those feelings? To shut them down?
Do you let them suffocate you?
Can you feel them?
Those emotions that you cannot reveal.
The feelings you don’t want to feel.
Can you feel them shredding away at your being?
Can you feel the knife as it pierces  through your skin?
Can you feel the poisonous concoction of pills you are forcing down your throat?

Can you see the light?
Can you see the stars?
Can you see the ones you love?
Can you see the ones you’ve lost?

Can you see your mistakes?
Can you see where you went wrong?
Do you regret it now?
Do you wish you had screamed?
Do you wish you had let the tears flood?

Are you sorry now?
