Autumn

Autumn

Gathered leaves nostalgic smell,
Amber crumbs in palms dwell.
Windswept Cherry cheeks bestow,
Fat clouds gray threaten snow.

Tractor fumes fill the air.
Aged corn rows stripped bare,
Southbound flocks on parade.
Laughing Children masquerade

Manic pumpkins twilight glow
Squirrels busy winter stow
Poxed vestiges raining down,
Lay on the cooling ground.

Clocks fall back an hour,
Solar dwindled power.
Swirling remnants in the sky.
Barron bough wave goodbye.

I could see the falling leaves and feel the autumn chill as I read. Halloween certainly comes to mind. My favorite season. Wonderful write, PD. 5 stars!
