Awakening

I was sleep walking through all of the days,
That were brought to me in miraculous ways.
I wasn’t grateful to be present on earth,
Because I felt that life couldn’t get any worse.

As I started waking to all that exists,
That’s when I learned how to actually live.
For I was conscious of all that is grace,
I just had to come out of that dark place.

Now my eyes are opened so widely,
As I make the changes to finally untie me.
From all the trauma my past bestowed,
All I had to do is break free and let go.

For my past has never defined me,
It is something I’ll be leaving behind me.
Love was something hardly received,
However it’s always been inside of me. 

No one but me is in control,
Of how my life will one day go.
It’s about living each and every day,
With not a single ounce of hate.

For the hate leaves constant misery,
Spreading love and laughter is the key.
To wake up every day with a big grin,
Just don’t let the bad in the world win.

The more love you give the more love finds you,
It’s not always easy I just have to remind you.
That with working hard and being yourself,
You can be the most valued item on the shelf.

For the inner light deep within you,
Will make its way out and continually spew.
When you are finally happy and filled with the light,
That’s when you will regain all of your sight.
