Take some time

Somedays I don’t always feel like me,
My inner soul falls tired and weak.
I put too much of my time into work,
But why can’t I ever give it to myself first?

Smiles are something that seemingly fade,
All of the bad thoughts are difficult to change.
But I choose to scream inside of my head,
And make sure negativity is something unfed.

I tell it to leave, for it has no home,
Because it’s where positivity chooses to roam.
It takes all the past trauma and hate,
And refuses to partake.

I need to count my blessings and all the good,
Just like every other person should.
For life is precious and can rebirth,
I just have to show my love to the earth.

For the earth repays in miraculous ways,
You just have to wait patiently for that day.
Life’s not a race it’s a long journey.
And when it comes to time there is no hurry.

It’s okay for me to take my time,
As long as I push through instead of rewind.
I gotta keep my head up and stay in line,
And let my heart continue to be kind.
