Awkward

Awkward

(circa 2013)

It was notĀ
so much a glow
I witnessed as
the protruding belly
looking as earlyĀ
pregnancy.

So,Ā  when are

the baby?

is just my
beer belly."

And then theĀ

embarrassed smile

and awkward silence

of the loud kindĀ
that follows
and the skipping
of food store
shopping aislesĀ
to avoid possibleĀ
eye contact of theĀ
embarrasser and
chubby victim.
