Samuel Gentry and the maiden
In 1798 the ship Red Sonia sank in the stormy sea
No one survived except First Mate Samuel Gentry
He stayed alive on an island but his spirit was sinking
Then she appeared, and he called her his sea maiden
.
She stood naked before him on the adjacent island
Whirlpools and waves were a wall between them
proving an impossible foe, for any man to conquer
Many times he attempted; his only profit was failure
.
He had seen beauty, but not like this maiden
standing unashamed, raven hair flowing in the sun
He stood watching her each day, lost in fascination
With no way to ever touch her; was she an illusion?
.
He longed to know her touch, the scent of her hair
She was an angel in waiting; would she wait forever?
.
With a heavy heart, he sat-- under an almond tree
one day, watching the tranquil blue Sargasso Sea;
When suddenly the sky began to turn a rusty brown
Waves came crashing, and the wind got very strong
.
And he became sore afraid of the storm impending
It was moving fast, he began running; fear stricken
Heading inland, far away from the onrushing sea
Seeking shelter, deciding he would not go quietly
.
But it seemed to him that death was his destiny
he whispered a prayer and considered his legacy
Then came the full power of the roaring wind
only seeing his maiden, he held on to any solid thing
.
The next day his house was gone with the wind
leaving a tranquil blue sky and the sun was burning,
Triumphantly he screamed and leaped in victory!
His life was spared and he was free from injury
.
Then he thought of his maid, filled with horror
He ran to the spot hoping, to see her once more
Stepping over branches fallen, impeding his way
Out of breath, he looked around in total dismay
.
The whirlpools were gone; just the sea was seen
Her island was still there, the sea calm and green
An arrow released, he dove into the deeps to her
Possessed by love, he effortlessly crossed over
.
standing naked on the shore; clothes in the water
Looking for that hill, where many times he'd seen her
dazed in disbelief, he looked around in confusion;
Was this mystery a miracle, a dream, an illusion?
.
Nearby, her tears fell cold and hope just a memory
In vision, she hoped herself dead and taken by the sea
She had never felt such loneliness at any time before
It seemed like many years since she’d seen the sailor
.
When finally he found her, weeping on the ground
He was awestruck by her beauty, she was ethereal
he knew not, that she was in exile, and a princess
Choosing solitude over never knowing love's bliss
.
The sailor touched her gently on her shoulder
then her face; and she turned with a shudder
So much more beautiful than he ever imagined
So lost in wonder that words did not come to him
.
His heart was racing tears of sadness long forgotten
Desire came to him, love was now a gift to open
She stood and pressed into his physical manifestation
Closed her eyes and braced for his sudden penetration;
.
His love was true and pure but savage was his nature
She took in with a scream, pain and pleasure
Then he stopped, thinking that he was causing pain
But she offered a rebuke to his sudden refrain
This expression inspired his lust hard and pure
releasing with a guttural sound deep inside her
.
the hunger of their souls, gone as they lay still
She touched his hair, his skin still it was burning
The language of words they had no need to know
They were loving again, short was the afterglow
...
And, Samuel Gently and his maiden of the sea
Shared true love's joy and lived together happy
The End, lol

"He had seen mysteries but never one like her;
A raven hair naked woman standing looking
But his heart was lost in fascination just the same
Though there was no way he could be with her,
.
Never to know her touch or the scent of her hair
Forever she would be his angel in waiting"
