Barking Trees

If trees could scream bloody murder there would never be a silent night.
Kill the forests for what reason? Greedy humans with no oversight.

We dare pimp out Mother Nature? Prostitution of a natural force.
When she snaps and steals our comfort dare not cry or beg her for remorse.

Can’t reverse our devastation; the milk has spilt and crusted on the floor
The rancid smell of poor decisions; signaling we’ve rotted to the core.

Millionaires and corporations turn their heads and blame the common man
As if we could make an impact; they’re the mountains, we’re but grains of sand.

If the earth could show the symptoms, she would wheeze and cough up pools of blood
And by the time we see the sickness, it’d be too late to save anyone

She nurtures us, while we spoon feed her poison.
