~ Beautiful Life, Sadly ~

A life without purpose can be a beautiful life
as long as you know it to be living and happen
to stumble into its light...
Tony Taylor
A man walks into a bar, sits on a stool, begins pondering
about the days events and errors,
realizing it'll never be fairer
he phone's a friend who's a fool
convinces him to meet at pier seventeen
and after five beers he's sober it seems,
so in making his way to pier seventeen
he realizes he has no reason to be here
or even go to the pier, so he scratches his ear
and remembers the times in his dreams
where he'd converse and play with aliens
winning rides through galaxies, and avoiding catastrophies
as he learned to love this life, like in riding a bike
it moves along so easily, circling and making him so dizzy
that he finds himself in a light, a most pleasurable part of life
where he stumbles into his wife, and they begin to try
to make babies that would one day aspire
to be greater than them, much higher
making them proud as can be
and all without ever knowing why,
in the end, it was a beautiful life,
sadly....

Hello Tony,
I liked you had a separation here. Like a prologue to the main event. A snippet to its meaning.
Yes life can be simple, and we don’t always appreciate the little things. Some of the happiest moments, are the simplest. We get knotted up in a society that pushes us to believe we MUST achieve more.
I enjoyed the reference to dreams. Something I enjoy escaping into as often as I can. For what is real? This life can feel misplaced, and yet in dreams we can forge at will all we desire.
Depression can cradle a person to the grave. Which I felt as I reached the end of this piece. A sense of dissatisfaction within satisfaction. The complications of humans who will always feel something is missing it seems.
Most enjoyed my poetic friend. As ever you never disappoint
Your friend Gwen x
HOLY COW!!....what a fantastic comment G!!......I often sit back in awe at the growth I have witnessed since you have found us all here on Cosmo.....you hit the nail on the head here....and then found some related value that I hadn't necessarily intended which, of course, is a big part of the magic and beauty of poetry......it's openness to individual interpretation....and I do so appreciate your amazing impressions of my work.......I look forward to reading your stuff here presently!!......Lots of Love to you my friend!!.......thanx again!!......T xo : )
Slightly different style of writing for you Tony but none the less still up to your standard of sensational 💕🌹💕
Tony,
This piece is very personal. It is full of imagery and phrase that paints a picture .. not that your life is lived idly or unconsciously... but perhaps part of it has .. As for myself I fell into most of the big decisions one makes... a mate, children and despite conscious living ... where I reside..
I pursued a career in medicine with full steam awareness.... but failed to notice alot of other things in my life... so strict focus on one is not good either..
Live in the moment ... whatever one does.. is what i have and am trying to do.
The past is gone and not to be relived or redone.... the future depends on how the present is lived... Live in the NOW... and all will be well.

Hi Tony,
This is again a very well written piece but also seems so very melancholy. Poetry as well as eyes are the window to the soul.
Feel free to message me whenever.
Love and rockets - Syd xo
Not much to say Tony, that was awesome. How you manage to captivate me through ever read no matter what you write. I especially enjoyed intoxicating feeling as the writing becomes messier further on I the read. What a masterful poet you are indeed my friend. Peace to you
