THE BEAUTY OF THE STRENGTH WITHIN
I saw the stinging tears
That filled your sad green eyes
The sorrow and the brokenness
Of your heart's deep cries
I see something so incredible
It's made you who you are
An amazing, resilient person
A fighter with a scar
It couldn't destroy or break you
Though it tried so many times
It's so sad to know it happens
There are no victimless crimes
I see the beauty of the strength within
Rising up from out of the ashes
I hear the thunderous mighty roar
As defeat goes down and crashes
Oh the beauty of the strength within
Who refused to lie down and die
You're not the victim anymore
You've earned your wings, to fly

Lovely write, sad yet beautiful and gratifying in the end.
The last two lines are my favorite. Going through so many hardships but never letting it permanently pull you down and escaping with a scar...you'll never forget about it but you've moved past it and are free from the burden.
