BEFORE THE BRINK (Part 1)

Before the brink
This life made me think
When would the chink in my chain find a link?
Succumbing to wonder
I wandered around
Living each day with an upside down frown
Deeper down, I had fallen so far
I wasn’t sure where I was anymore
Ahead the world seemed to have no meaning
I was scared of uncertainty
Unsure of this feeling
Was I just dreaming of reaching a place
Which seemed to resemble outer space
Whether or not I’m awake or asleep
I’ll seek that bridge
That may lead to the brink.
