THE GARDEN OF ARDEN
'Curiosity Never Killed The Cat'
Amidst the twilight garden
Many creatures dwell
From sombre snails, leaving silvery trails
That glisten upon the well.
To the wryly worm
Without head for concern
Who bewilders blind bats, oblivious to cats
Which are patiently awaiting their turn.
For they all must feast
The twilight beasts
On prey that may come their way
Be it mantis or moth
Hungry mouths froth
As the garden predicts much dismay.
Lost in limbo, lying beneath
A caterpillars shadow
And the butterfly thief
Crack the cocoon , hidden under the heath.
Then a buzzing brigade of insects and slugs
Bugs and nocturnal creatures above
Heed the holler of the mourning dove.
For she foresees the trees that defend
Those chosen...frozen...
With fear must transcend.
In the āGarden of Ardenā
Her murmur assures
A dire end from patient paws.

I could see the caterpillars and butterfly's flying around in the garden.Ā
