Poem -

Behold!

Behold!

The darkness creepeth close,
old ancient haunts, gaunt ghastly ghosts.
Lost legions of the leering dead
invade thine mind, get in thy head.

Cruel cold makes senses numb, of course.
Soft screams–now but a growl–so hoarse.
Cadaverous cacophonies
echo within mired memories.

Thou cans’t deny, 'tis part of thee
Now everything thou say or see
becomes a tapestry of pain

each ink blotch but a bloodied stain.
