Poem -

Being Myself

I would have done anything to be right in your eyes,
But when I never could I suddenly realised.
I may as well be myself because nothing suits you,
I won't try to change because you'll just disapprove.

You may not like the real me,
The one that's true and standing here.
But that's all I'll ever be,
Am I making my point to you clear?

I won't let you destroy me inside anymore,
That's why I'm being myself.
I may not be the child I wish you could adore,
But at least I'm not being someone else.
