Beneath The Skin

Beneath The Skin

Red, withered, rugged, tough, worn out with pride

The nation born, by his hands, the crops bare beneath earth's tide

Never turn away, from what truth may lay, the indian brought life

To the earth, from the spirits of the sky, beneath the skin, the heart of a man

Leather, beads, stones carved into arrow heads, the spears of victory

The respect of the land, the waters clear, the valleys pure, and the mountains rush

Sounds of the drums beat to charm the spirit world, know the peace

The retreat for mankind, the richness of the soil, the flesh from the soul

Beneath the skin, there lies a kingdom of promise, for a world of native salvation
