Birdie

Last spring I met a birdie
A handsome little thing
He landed on my "desktop"
And I listened to him sing

We enjoyed each others company
Like Lyda and her Swan
But Spring has turned to Summer
And now my birdie's gone

I let my darling fly away
To search for better things
I should have used a tether
Or broke his fuckin wings
