Birds
Remember the days,
When you and I,
We would sing and soar,
Like birds in the sky.
Our wings were of silver,
Or we pretended, at least,
As we flew over the rivers,
And over imaginary blue seas.
And every time we laughed,
It always made me smile,
To think back to that time,
Every once in a while.
Who are you now?
What do you know?
Are we still the same?
Or did we both grow?
Maybe our wings,
They have grown into claws,
Our memories are gone,
And so have our flaws.
Our past has disappeared.
And it is about time,
I guess we have parted,
It is not a crime.
People change,
And we are people, arenât we?
Or are we still the birds,
Who flew over the sea?
